2024 – CEO change.

After a successful decade, Daniel Binzegger hands over the management of cablex to Francesco Castelletti (CEO ad interim).

2024 – Opening cablex Germany GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany.

cablex is continuing on its expansion drive by opening cablex Germany GmbH in Stuttgart. The company is kick-starting its successful launch on the German market with a major customer project. As a general contractor, cablex Germany GmbH offers comprehensive solutions in optical fibre construction, and customers benefit from a central point of contact for all network construction issues.

2022 – Takeover of Josef Vogt AG.

cablex reinforces its Civil Work division and takes over the equipment and staff of Josef Vogt AG.

2021 – Anniversary 20 years cablex.

In 2021, cablex will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

2020 – The Department of Traffic Engineering becomes Traffic & eMobility.

cablex developed the concept: beyond eMobility! In addition to the installation of the charging infrastructure, we offer you, among other things, an energy management system, billing systems and digitalisation solutions tailored to your needs. 

2020 – A strong alliance.

The merger of cablex and Swisscom CFS and the associated takeover of 1000 employees represents a further milestone in the expansion of cablex's competencies and power.

2019 – Merger cablex & CFS.

Swisscom is transferring its Customer Field Service to cablex Ltd with effect from 1 January 2020.

2019 – Traffic Technology unit.

cablex has now rounded off its extensive portfolio with the launch of its new Traffic Technology unit.

2017 – World première: Completion of the first network electrician apprenticeships specialising in telecommunication.

In June 2017, 19 cablex Network Electricians (Telecommunication) completed their training.

2015 – Main information display board at Zurich central train station.

cablex replaces the split-flap display at Zurich central train station with an LED board (using the latest technology). 

2015 – Ceneri starting shot.

On 24. February, 2015, the long-awaited administrative starting shot was given for the partnership between AlpTransit Gotthard AG (ATG) and ARGE CPC (cablex, Porr, Condotte).

2014 – - The first network electrician trainees.

The first network electrician trainees with a focus on communications start their apprenticeships at cablex.

2014 – Establishment of the SNiv association.

cablex founds the association SNiv ("Schweizer Netzinfrastrukturverband für Kommunikation, Energie, Transport und ICT" ("Swiss Network Infrastructure Association for Communication, Energy, Transport and ICT")) with leading companies from the network infrastructure industry.

2013 – Energy provision for base stations.

In the shape of "solar@basisstation", cablex develops an innovative solution for the energy provision of base stations.

2013 – Ceneri Base Tunnel.

As consortium head, cablex wins the "rail technology and general coordination" order worth CHF 138 million for the Ceneri Base Tunnel.

2012 – Partnership with Sunrise.

cablex becomes the strategic partner for Sunrise for the Service area.

2012 – Network renewal order for upc.

cablex wins the network renewal order (NUP) in Ticino for upc for 2013.

2011 – Mobile and business customer orders.

cablex wins major mobile orders from Orange and business customer orders from Sunrise.

2011 – Cross-city line Zurich.

cablex wins the major "Cross-city line Zurich" order.

2010 – FTTH training.

cablex trains 45 key individuals throughout Switzerland in FTTH specialisms.

2009 – Partnership contract with Cablecom.

cablex concludes a partnership contract with Cablecom for the Ticino region.

2008 – FTTH projects.

cablex realises the first Fibre to the Home (FTTH) projects.

2007 – Collaboration contract with Cablecom.

cablex concludes a collaboration contract with Cablecom and takes over part of its Network Construction department.

2006 – Establishment of services for transport.

Through the newly launched transport area (road/rail), cablex rounds off its extensive portfolio.

2006 – Work in the Energy area. Another milestone.

Another milestone is set through the establishment of the Energy (low and medium voltage) division.

2005 – Cable TV.

The Cable TV (CATV) division is developed.

2004 – Antenna Construction and Network Construction Indoor.

Two further pillars in addition to the traditional core business are created in the shape of the Antenna Construction and Network Construction Indoor divisions.

2002 – ISO certification.

cablex is certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001.

2001 – Establishment of joint-stock company.

cablex is established on 1 October as an independent joint-stock company. The company originates from the Network Construction department of Swisscom Fixnet AG and is now its main supplier.
