Now that the Ceneri Base Tunnel has been put into operation, the New Railway Link through the Alps (NRLA) is complete. The continuous flat-rail route from Altdorf to Lugano would not have become a reality without the 15.4 km base tunnel under the Ceneri. On 31 August 2020, the Ceneri Base Tunnel was handed over to Swiss Federal Railways right on schedule. And with that, the operator SBB is now the owner of the Ceneri Base Tunnel. This milestone draws cablex's largest ever technology project to a close after five and a half years. A good time, then, to take a look back and review the most important phases for cablex.
