A philosophy that can be transferred.

Urs has been CFO (Chief Financial Officer) at cablex since 2015 and manages Finance, IT and Supply Chain. The team of over 100 people support cablex's divisions and make a significant contribution to the company's success. Urs discovered his passion for the Japanese martial art of aikido over ten years ago. Aikido focuses on defence and winning a fight without harming the attacker. Urs also shares this philosophy and sees some parallels with the activities of his division.

I like the holistic nature of this martial art with its unification of body and mind. It helps me focus in my everyday life.

Urs Ringgenberg, Chief Financial Officer, cablex AG

Mindfulness and precision.

Aikido allows you to focus on the present. In finance, it's crucial to recognise risks early on, analyse them correctly and react appropriately.

Defence.

The right defence is the foundation of martial arts. Stability and security are just as crucial for cablex. Digitalisation means knowing how to protect ourselves – in the digital and in the real world.

Energy flow.

Harnessing energy is one of aikido's secrets. Flows of energy, and goods, can also be found in Supply Chain Management at cablex. Both the optimisation of our supply chains and sustainable procurement are key issues.

Interaction.

Aikido necessitates adapting to the behaviour and movements of your opponent, practising and intensifying that interaction. It is also important for us as a company to react to changing market conditions, regulations and customer needs. Cooperation between team members, but also with external partners, is very important to us.

Through mindfulness paired with precision, energy flow and defence, Urs and his teams will continue to work towards success at cablex and an outstanding customer experience.

We would like to thank Urs for the impressive insight into the world of aikido.
